Rocking The Mothership!
Whoa! Today was one of those days where everyone in the house was in a different orbit! Call it cabin fever, stress, boredom, whatever, but the Mothership was rockin’!! So it’s February 16 th and Spring is just a little over a month away, close enough to imagine what it feels like, but too far away to break out the patio furniture.
So what’s the cure? We decided to unearth the arts and crafts stuff and create something awesome. Give a kid some clay and paints and they can come up with all kinds of crazy stuff! What was once the kitchen table, suddenly became an art studio! We molded, we crafted and we painted, it was just like the old days when the kids were still in the single digits; and they still liked their parents.
Entertainment for preteens is hard to come by, especially in the Winter. Kids can get stuck in a rut just like adults, but they don’t know how to get out of it. Mom has to think creative!
What started off to be a tense afternoon turned into quite a nice day!

It IS such a tease knowing that Spring is just around the corner! I’m in that place where I’ve been in hibernation for so long now that when I drive thru Dunkin Donuts for coffee, I park my car anywhere I can find sun just to soak up a few rays before heading back into my cave!! Fortunately, it’s just me I have to keep entertained … that’s where blog hopping comes in very handy.

I know the feeling! I do love snow, though, and I have to admit I’d still like that one BIG snow this winter. All we ever got were a bunch a coatings. After that, bring on spring!

Oh how I know! It gets to the point here at my house, that I will bundle mine up and go outside even if it is freezing. We have to think creatively – there is no other means of survival.

Hi Deb, we used to bundle up and go outside too when the kids were little. What to do with them now is a whole different story! Now I want to bundle up and go sit on the front porch in my rocker just to get away from them and their bickering, lol!

I can so relate to wishing winter would end! Here, it’s just wet. So we don’t get the fun snow to play in but playing outdoors is a mess. Congrats to finding something fun for your pre-teens to do! And I love the mom in the kitchen pic.
